Avo' toast

10 May 2015 by Hazel

(Yes really, it gets a whole category to itself.)

Copenhagen, if we're honest, 'aint got nothing on New York when it comes to avo' toast. But the trend is catching on, and more and more cafés and restos are developing their own take on the popular brunch choice.

Vi Modtes Gennem Ruden

An avo' toast with a 500m radius (in terms of suppliers, not trees), and all ingredients collected by bicycle each morning. Lightly toasted rye bread, a lot of avocado, nuts, herbs and flowers. Quite simply, perfection. Photo by @thehazertazer.

Aamanns

If there’s one place you should try smørrebrød, it’s Aamanns. @faisalamoudi is sampling the avocado with lemon emulsion, pickled onions, cabbage and cress one and then in the background, one with grilled sirloin, chunky remoulade, horseradish, crispy onions and chervil! Open for lunch all week and dinner Wednesday to Saturday.

A perfect morning scene, @theguseva is enjoying here. Café Det Vide Hus' avo' toast served with a perfectly runny boiled egg. This place just keeps getting better!

Høegs

Brunch at Høegs' never disappoints. On the contrary, even the simplest dishes are artfully and carefully prepared with the best ingredients and original combinations. This is their take on the avo' toast, photographed by @brixen.

Repos

Seriously good avo' toast at @repos_vesterbro. Avocado piled high, topped with onions and chilli oil. Served with an egg!

Wolfie

If you're an avo' toast addict, checkout Wolfie, whose avo' toast is worth the trip out to Sydhavnen. This is actually the organic wholegrain bun, avocado, cherry tomato, olive oil and basil dish pictured, but there is also a rye bread option on the menu! Photo by @ditsen.

Café Dyrehaven

Café Dyrehavn on Sonder Boulevard wins at so many brunch dishes, it's a must for all you brunchers. But of course, we're interested specifically in their avo' toast. Here's @foodbyjesper enjoying one with some grapefruit on the side.
